A Life Near The Edge
A Journey
For the vast majority of my life, I have been fascinated with the explorative and courageous aspects of what I will call “edge play”. By this I mean the many varied experiences people put themselves through, right at the edge of their comfort zones.
I served as a tattoo artist for 15 years in New York, in which I experienced people of all social classes coming to endure pain for the sake of their own personal self expression. The subculture also includes those modern primitives who willingly scar, pierce, burn, receive dermal implants, or suspend from hooks through their skin.
I’ve been an avid yoga enthusiast and teacher for 15 years in which the psyche and physical limits of the body are also put through challenges. Inspiring breath practices and expanding physical limits are core to the modern experience of yoga asana.
I’ve also spent the better part of the last 15 years working in the realms of psychoactive and physically challenging shamanic ceremonies, the majority of which have their roots in Native American cultures. I lived and trained extensively in the Amazon
and continue to guide others through the momentous practices which have evolved to expand one’s consciousness and self awareness.
And The Arrival
Shibari is now my most recent exploration into my own psyche and those willing to join me. I am thrilled how the world of shibari incorporates just about every aspect of the things I love most dearly. To me, all parts of shibari are equally beautiful and enjoyable: the beauty of the art form, the overcoming of challenges by brave explorers, the eroticism and sensual connection, and as a playground for my own silly, loving, supportive, and dominant nature.
All of these call to the core of my being. Holding space for brave and curious individuals tickles my soul. The very real trust people share with me serves as a humbling reminder of the most beautiful parts of the human experience: to be there for each other as we explore a little bit further and shed light on all the vast and wondrous places both within and without.
